Dr. Kara Willenburg is a board-certified physician in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine. Prior to joining RMID, she worked for Marshall University; there served as Chief of the Infectious Diseases and Associate Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency. She led Infection control and antibiotic stewardship and worked closely with public health. Most recent publications are regarding HIV outbreak management.
After graduating from Syracuse University in New York, Dr. Willenburg completed her Internal Medicine residency at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY. She then completed her Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the University of Rochester in New York.
Dr. Willenburg enjoys spending her free time with her family, hiking, camping, knitting, baking, and cooking.
